Video Behavior Consultation
A structured remote consultation conducted in three parts intake review, live video observation, and follow-up guidance. Ideal for clients who need flexible support or are outside the local area.
Clinical Behavior Assessment
A comprehensive evaluation of behavior concerns, including detailed history review, structured observation, risk assessment, and written recommendations. Designed for more complex cases requiring in-depth analysis and documentation.
One on One Owner Training Session
Personalized, hands-on training designed to help you better understand and communicate with your dog. We’ll work together on your specific concerns, including leash handling, reactivity, fear, over-arousal, boundaries, and everyday behavior. The focus is on teaching you the skills and tools to confidently guide your dog and create lasting change.
Boarding Options
At The Misunderstood Canine, we aim to provide affordable options and structured care for dogs who need more than traditional boarding, as well as support for families navigating travel, life transitions, or difficult behavioral situations. This includes dogs who are simply staying for vacation care, dogs going through transitional periods, and dogs who may be moving toward rehoming and need stability and assessment before next steps are made.
Standard Boarding
This service is for difficult dogs who require an experienced handler in a structured, controlled environment. It is designed for dogs who may not thrive in traditional boarding due to reactivity, fear, overstimulation, or lack of prior structure. Each dog is managed based on their individual temperament and needs, with emphasis on emotional regulation and safe handling. This option is suitable for both vacation stays and temporary care requiring experienced support.
Board + Train
This program is designed for dogs who need guidance around reactivity, fear-based behavior, over-arousal, impulse control, or general lack of structure. During their stay, dogs receive individualized handling and behavior-focused sessions tailored to their needs. The goal is not only to provide care but to begin creating clarity, better coping skills, and improved behavioral responses within a structured and controlled environment.
