Our mission at The Misunderstood Canine is to provide ethical, science-based canine behavior consulting, training, and boarding services that strengthen the bond between dogs and their owners through education, clear communication, and individualized support.
We are dedicated to promoting responsible handling practices, improving understanding of canine behavior, and delivering practical, sustainable outcomes that support both dogs and the people who care for them. Through structured guidance, behavior modification, and comprehensive owner education, our goal is to enhance canine welfare and promote long-term stability within the home.
We specialize in supporting dogs experiencing fear, anxiety, reactivity, overstimulation, aggression and other complex behavioral challenges by addressing the underlying causes of behavior. Our work is grounded in humane, evidence-based methods informed by canine psychology, learning theory, and behavioral science, with a commitment to clarity, compassion, and effective results.
I keep my costs as low as I do because I work closely with many low income families who deserve access to the same level of high quality behavioral support and care as anyone else. Every dog and every household matters, regardless of financial situation, and my goal is never to make help feel out of reach.
This is rooted in purpose. I do this because I care deeply about improving the lives of dogs and the people connected to them, and I believe meaningful behavior work should be accessible, not exclusive. To support that, I also offer flexible payment plans. My intention is to reduce barriers wherever possible so families can get the guidance they need when they need it, without having to delay or go without support due to cost.
